Introduction to Directionality™
DirectionalityTM is a tool to
develop effective communication pathways and will help you
develop a greater sense of self-awareness and understanding of others. It shows
the people of your organization how to:
-
appreciate differences in people around them
-
communicate effectively with all types of people
-
unlock their own potential to excel
-
attain complex or seemingly overwhelming goals
-
enjoy life and be more productive every day
Just as Michelangelo could not change the basic
ingredient of the marble he used to create the statue of David, so we cannot
change our dominate pathway of communication.
However, just as Michelangelo used chisels and hammers to change the
shape of the marble, we too can improve our communication style and strengths
through understanding what individuals need from the climate of their
environment, attitudes of others toward them and create the ingredients
necessary for effective relationships.
Research done by Carl Jung, Plato, Fromm, Myers-Briggs and David Keirsey
has shown that individuals are unique.
They need and want different things and have different beliefs. They also
possess different communication styles and strengths. DirectionalityTM provides a road map for exploring your pathway towards a more balanced lifestyle and will identify the Climate,
Attitudes, and Relationships that people need to effectively travel along their
journey. Just as a car needs four balanced wheels to operate efficiently, people
need to balance their communication types to be more successful on their journey
through life. The aim of DirectionalityTM is to
maximize productivity and efficiency and foster caring,
genuine relationships by opening communication pathways through understanding.
DirectionalityTM assigns four different colors to describe the four different communications pathways. A person who is
"red" has a pathway that is flexible to changes in direction and is
one that seeks adventure. "Greens" have a pathway that is built on
logic and vision for the future. "Yellow's" pathway takes them along a
path that is ordered and scheduled with step by step procedures.
"Blues" pathway is harmonious, expressive, with its focus
on helping others.
The aim of Directionality™ is to maximize
productivity and efficiency and foster caring, genuine relationship by opening communication pathways
through understanding.
With the knowledge of Directionality™
comes understanding. With understanding comes value and with value comes
positive productive behavior.
